Valuation permeates virtually every area of tax. In this webinar, a leading practitioner in the fields of tax and valuation will discuss valuation techniques and the federal tax treatment of: (1) property-type discounts, including fractional interest discounts; (2) owner-level discounts, including discounts for lack of marketability, lack of control, market absorption, and blockage; (3) entity-level discounts, including discounts for loss of a key person, contingent liabilities, a non-diversified portfolio, and the discount for built-in capital gains tax. This webinar will also cover the features of valuation discounts which are most likely to be audited and litigated, best practices to minimize the risk of audit, and alternative dispute resolution alternatives to trial. This webinar is a must-attend for practitioners who file estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and all tax returns where valuation is at issue.

"This webinar was excellent. I have a heavy background in valuation theory (including a CPA, a Masters in Finance and CFA prep), have had to defend two different very contentious tax valuations (properties), and have a heavy background of legal exposure and involvement, so I had very high expectations for this webinar. Both the content and the presenter lived up to them. The most significant point, to me, was that there were very valuable takeaways in very aspect of the material - the valuation process, the audit process and the trial process. I would highly recommend this webinar. By the way, I just took "Representing the Innocent Spouse, in Pre- and Post-Filing Controversies," by the same presenter, yesterday. It was also very worthwhile - a little too much material, I think, for the time allotted, but this is why you get handouts. Always better to have more material, than less."maria p, NY
"Durante 18 anos;sin hablar mucho ingles me dedique a estudiar y aprender sobre impuestos.en la actualidad tengo 59 anos y esta es mi pasión;sobre todo que puedo ayudar ala comunidad de habla hispana sobre las responsabilidades que tenemos todos al llegar a este país EEUU Estos seminarios me gustan mucho ya que tambien los puedo escuchar desde mi teléfono móvil o computador en cualquier lugar es fabuloso"Paula, OK
"I have always found my time well-spent on these short classes. When I need CPE credits these often point to other courses for further & perhaps more in-depth study, but they are always interesting even when not my particular specialty. The presenters represent a vast array of knowledge that would be difficult to obtain from a single individual or even university."DESIREE, OH
"This was one of the most informative webinars I have ever participated in. The presenter explained the concepts of valuation in a clear manner that was very understandable to someone familiar with valuations, as well as someone who may not have had much prior experience."Gerald, FL
"Excellent presentation, especially that portion dealing with the various "Discounts". For larger estates, the Instructor clearly made a crucial point that a CPA will be well advised to make certain there is a Qualified Tax Attorney on his/her Team."David, FL
"I am a CFO and I am constantly asked what the value of our business is. This course gave some excellent information about the discounts used to determine the value of the business which will help me to at least come up with a reasonable estimate."Sondra, TX
"Presenter was knowledgeable and was exceptional at presenting the concept. He did not waste time with small talk, but jumped right to details! Much appreciated the information he was able to pack into 1 hour"Michael, CO
"This was a great overview course into a subject that can be very complex in its application. Lawrence did a great job laying out a framework. Also, the accompanying PDFs are very helpful as reference guides."
